WIH 1 - Death of a King • Design a newspaper front page about the death of Alexander III in 1286 • Your front page should include :- • A newspaper title e.g. The Scotsman • The date – 19th March 1286 • The price • A headline e.g. Death of a King • The story – write about why Alexander was such a good king, personal tragedies affecting the king, his heir, his second marriage, the meeting in Edinburgh, the journey to Kinghorn, the accident, the reaction of Scots to the death of the king • Use the information sheet and the internet to help you write the story • Try to make your newspaper look like an old Scottish document

  3. WIH2 - William Wallace – Scots Rebel • Design a wanted poster for the Scottish rebel, William Wallace • Your poster should include :- • A picture • A description • A reward • Use the information sheet to help you design your poster • Try to make your poster look like an old Scottish document

  4. WIH3 The Battle of Bannockburn • Use the information in your History jotter and information from the Internet to answer the following question :- Why did the Scots defeat the English at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314? • Try to write at least 100 words

WIH4 – Scottish Heritage • Many tourists visit sites in Scotland linked to the Scottish Wars of Independence such as the Wallace Monument and the Battle of Bannockburn Centre • Design a poster advertising one of these historic sites • Your poster should include pictures and written description of the site explaining why it is so important • Use the Internet to find pictures and information
