HMP & YOI Ashfield houses up to 400 young men aged 15-21, many grappling with significant challenges. Alarmingly, 20% of men and 40% of women entering prison have attempted suicide in the last two years. The majority face barriers to employment due to inadequate literacy and numeracy skills. With over 80% of young offenders re-offending within two years, it’s crucial for local churches to get involved in their discipleship. Volunteer opportunities include prayer, mentorship, and community engagement, fostering hope and change for these young lives.
