TSO Role : You play a key role in the safety of the department: • Follow up and resolution of the safety inspection remarks (general and electrical), • Approbation of works (Fire permits, IMPACTs, etc..), • Contribute to the improvement of safety in the building, • Participate to organization of the evacuation exercises, • Essential interaction with the building users, • Inform the DSO in case of safety deviations in the building, • Inform Space Management (I. Mardirossian) and Safety Office in case of change of offices functions (offices  labs for example).

  6. The EP Safety Office assists you in this process in particular for : • Solving HSE safety inspections remarks, • Safety validation of the visit paths, • Workshops conformity and Workshop Supervisor nomination, • Electrical safety (AUL, AUG, assessment, non conformities), • Fire Risk conformity (done in collaboration with SMB), • Declaration of work – IMPACT, • Evacuations paths assessment, evacuation exercises, emergency guides training, accident follow up, • Risks assessments and safety systems implementation, • Removing the lead from buildings, lead surface contamination measurement and eventually cleaning.

  7. Specific safety issues addressed in 2016/2017: • Workshops conformity and Supervisors nomination (see Letizia talk) • Lead issues – procedures of handling / transport/ painting/ storage (see Evelyne talk) • Electrical safety inspections resolution (see Gilles talk) • Visit paths safety validation in collaboration with the HSE Unit • Chemicals of building 102/ 107 - creation of procedures and conformity, preparation for future activities in 107 • Safety Files creation for the EP department activities .. and lots of activities related to the safety of the EP Experiments and Experimental Areas …

  8. .. a flavour of what is on going for the Experiments … • Update of the Safety Validation process of the EP Experiments in close collaboration with HSE unit. • Strong collaboration with the other DSOs (EN and BE) to define the Safety Permit process within departments (Lasers, Beam, Cryogenics,..) • Safety of new Experiments GBAR NP02 cryostat
