Important Graduation Info Entrance: All graduates must enter through the door near the handicapped parking lot on the south side of the arena (Cedar St. Side) Look for blue/white balloons.  As you face the front of the Verizon Center the entrance is on the right side of the building.  The doors will open at 10:00 AM and be locked at 10:15 AM. 

  3. Important Graduation Info If you are not inside the building by 10:15 AM you will not be admitted to graduation. Once inside the building you will be checked in.  Please do yourself and others a favor and do not bring inflatable items like beach balls – they will be taken from you as you will be searched at the door.

  5. Attire • The dress for gentlemen requires long trousers with shoes and socks (no sneakers or other footwear please).  It is strongly recommended that gentlemen wear a collared shirt and a tie, but at the very least should have a collared shirt on underneath their gown.  • For ladies it is expected that they have appropriate dress (skirts, dresses or nice slacks) under their gowns and appropriate footwear (no sneakers or flip-flops). 

  6. Attire, continued • All authorized cords and attire can be worn, i.e. National Honor Society, National Technology Honor Society, etc.  • Please, no 3-dimensional items on top of caps as they block the view of those seated behind you.  • (NOTE – If you do not have access to the required clothing please see your academy administrator or counselor TODAY and arrangements will be made to provide you with what you need.)

Line-Up and Rest Rooms • Once inside the Arena you will remain in your assigned area on the ground floor. • You will not be allowed access to any other part of the building.  • Line up will be in the downstairs corridor that circles around the Arena and you will be directed to your appropriate line-up area.  TASSELS ON THE RIGHT.

Line-Up and Rest Rooms • Tell your parents…as they look at the stage, Section A will be on their left; Section B will be on their right. • Please, please,please—take the card that tells you what section, row and seat you are in. • There are ample rest rooms in the lineup area for your use prior to the start of the ceremony.

  11. Processional • This is your graduation and your proud parents and friends will appreciate you conducting yourself with dignity and respect.  • At 11:00 AM sharp you will follow the Faculty Academic Procession into the Arena.  Groups will walk in the end of the Arena where the stage will be set up (for those who have been there it is where the Zamboni comes onto the ice) and go to their respective seats but remain standing until the Class Marshals seat you as a group.  • We march as soon as the digital clock in the arena hits 11:00 AM.

  14. Diplomas You will NOT receive your actual diploma during the ceremony.  You may pick-up your diploma with any picture ID at the Main Office until July 1st. Any diplomas that have not been picked up at that time, will be sent home.

  15. Scholarships • The number and total value of scholarships will be noted at graduation. The scholarships are listed in the graduation program. • The presentation of scholarships were Wednesday, June 11. You were awarded….

  16. Recessional • At the conclusion of the ceremony the Class President will instruct you to move your tassels from RIGHT TO LEFT and declare that you are now officially graduated.  • The band will immediately play a recessional song and you will start filing out behind you, last row first, through the staff who are lined up on either side and then through the front doors of the arena onto Elm Street. • Then move directly outside the Verizon Center to meet with family and friends.  • The Verizon Center does not allow people, for liability and safety reasons, to climb over the boards circling the main floor so you should instruct your family members to meet you outside immediately following the ceremony.
