5. Question 46 • This movie was considered a reformist period master-piece. Directed by Franz Osten, it talked about the social position of Dalit girls in India. • The movie stars X (who was cast after the original hero had eloped with the producer's wife and leading lady) and Y (the producer's wife who decided to come back) in the lead roles. It was released in 1936 and was one of the earliest several successful Bombay Talkies collaborations between Franz Osten, Niranjan Pal, Himanshu Rai, and their leading lady. Name both the actors or the movie?

6. Answer 46 • The correct answer as given by RAJI is “Acchut Kanya”. The actors are Ashok Kumar and Devika Rani. I felt this question had a major clue in the mention of a Dalit Girl in the name.  • @Raji: Well, that’s what Wikipedia says and usually they have their sources. Question 47 • Clue 1: Every street-name in the town of “Seahaven” refers to a movie actor, e.g. "Lancaster Square" or "Barrymore Road”. • Clue 2: Robin Williams was initially considered for the role, but the director Peter Weir gave the role to X as Xs performance reminded him of Charlie Chaplin. The actor X took the opportunity to proclaim himself as a dramatic actor, rather than being typecast in comedic roles. • Clue 3: Director Peter Weir filmed in the 1.66:1 ratio to make it feel more like a television show. • Name this movie, which critics said was “as well-made as Forrest Gump”?

9. Question 48 • Many of you know almost every dialogue of this movie by heart. So I am making this question a bit tough. Identify. • Clue 1: Sets from the film Dark City (1998), including rooftops, buildings and others exteriors sets, were used in this film, especially during the very first scene. • Clue 2: The name of the company for which the main protagonist works, “Metacortex”, literally translates to "transcending the boundaries of the brain," which is precisely what he proceeds to do. • Clue 3 (Dialogue):  ”It is all around us. 11. Question 49 • I am literally making this question a bit tough, and the clues are less of movie-based and more of trivia. • Clue 1: This name/word, means "Violence" in Japanese. This is also the name of a greenish-yellow variety of apple with red stripes, that was introduced to the American colony of New Sweden in 1637 by Peter Gunnarsson _____, a Swedish immigrant.The name of the apple was derived from Peter Gunnarsson's Swedish home on Ramberget. The suffix means "home" in Swedish. • Clue 2: The character was born in Bowie, Arizona to a Native American Navajo father and a mother of Italian descent. His experiences in Vietnam and back home resulted in an extreme case of post-traumatic stress disorder. At the same time, inner questions of self identity and reflectiveness cause him to lash out at society rather than handling difficult situations in a "civilized" manner. • Clue 3: The hero playing the character shares the same birthday as him (July 6) and is also Italian-American  by descent. He is part of the generation of movie action hero actors like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jean-Claude Van Damme who were featured in many of the Hollywood blockbuster action films of the late 1980s and 1990s. • Identify this movie character.

Question 50 • This movie is based on a book, which was the third in a series of four crime fiction novels by James Ellroy : The Black Dahlia (1987), The Big Nowhere (1988), __ ____________ (1990) and White Jazz (1992). Inspite of being nominated for 9 Oscars, it won just 2 because of “Titanic”. The best supporting actress award, which this movie won at the Oscars, was shared by both these movies at the “Screen Actors Guild Awards”! The movie you mentioned was released in 1961, 4 years after “12 Angry Men” was released.

Question 52 • If you read this question carefully, you can probably guess the name of the movie and kick me for the easy question  • This movie, released in 1987, is based on a novel of the same name by John Updike. Set in the fictional Rhode Island town of Eastwick, this film is based around the magical abilities and personal growth of the three female protagonists who summon a devil-like character who tries to seduce them. • Identify the movie. Also, from the movie poster below, can you name atleast 2 of the 3 women. • “I see men, sixty, seventy years old breaking their balls to stay fit! What for? 19. Answer 52 • It is “The Witches of Eastwick”. I thought perhaps the word “Eastwick” could have struck a chord, since this movie has aired several times on Star Movies. Set in 2027, this film is a dark, ripping road movie that follows Theo Faron as he tries to lead the world's first pregnant woman in 18 years, Kee, to safety. • Although this film was not a financial success (unlike the movie in the above question), it was well appreciated by the critics. 25. Answer 54 • Well, ANDY was bang on target. It’s the dystopian thriller “Children of Men”. And the actors pictured are Clive Owen and Julianna Moore (whom we can all recall from “The Hannibal” I think). • Partial correct answers by Tania and Arvind (names of the actors were also asked and were not mentioned in the answers)

26. Question 55 • This is one hilarious movie, which has a rating of 7.6 on IMDB. The story concerns the misadventures of Wong Fei Hung as he battles the henchmen of the British consul using the Zui Quan style of martial arts. Wong finds that he becomes a more powerful fighter when he consumes something, but the excess consumption actually makes him incapable of fighting. • Enough clues, now just name the movie.

28. Answer 55 • As mentioned by Arvind, the movie is “Drunken Master II” or “Legend of Drunken Master”. Partial names accepted, although it is clear from the “British Consul” that it was the second in the series of Drunken Master movies. • Good guess by Tania also (although it was not Jackie Chan, but Jet Li in that series of movies)

29. Question 56 • Released in 1994, this film is perhaps the Frenchiest hitman thriller ever to take place on the streets of New York. The hero is all Gallic cool as a simple-minded assassin and Mathilda (in her movie debut) is heartbreaking as the teen who falls in love with him. • Trivia: During the filming involving all of the police cars on the street, a man ran from a store he had just robbed. When he encountered the movie set by accident, he saw all of the "police" and gave himself up to a bunch of uniformed extras! • Name the movie and the two actors pictured below.

37. Answer 58 • I did not give any obvious clues because this novel is so well-known. The movie/novel is “Pride and Prejudice” by Jane Austen.

40. Answer 59 • It was easy I guess. The movie was the famous movie “The Wizard of Oz” and the actress is Judy Garland. • Correct answers by RAJI.
