Participants will reflect on the shared questions, exchange information through structured dialogue, and compile data on challenges, emotional impacts, and responses to support these students. The goal is to foster a collaborative approach to addressing the aftermath of these natural disasters.

  2. Objective Identify the level of need due to the relocation of students due to the recent hurricanes in the region. Identify what type of assistance has been provided to the districts at this time. Identify the needs that still have not been sufficiently addressed.

  3. Reflect • Reflect on the questions provided

  4. Share • Stand in two lines of equal length facing one another • Share your answer to question 1 • Write your partners information on the card • One line will move one person to the right • The person on the end should move to the beginning of the line • Exchange answer to question 2 • Write your new information • Move one person to the right • Repeat until all questions and answers have been shared

  5. Chart It! • The people in the line that did not move: • Go to the chart pad with the corresponding question • Write the information you collected on the chart pads

  6. Report it! • How many students has your area received? • What are some challenges that have developed from the extra students? • What are some of the emotional/trauma issues of which you’ve become aware? • What are some the things that have been done in response to the identified needs?
