Technology to Support Assessment • rubric: An assessment tool that articulates the expectations for an assignment by listing the criteria and describing levels of quality from excellent to poor (Andrade). • Rubrics help teachers by providing a standard to make fair, dependable judgments about student work.

  5. Technology to Support Assessment • Rubrics also help students: • Guide students into understanding expectations for an assignment. • Guide students into understanding the quality of their own work. • Empower students. • Make students share responsibility for their own learning.

  7. Make a Rubric through Technology • You can create your own rubrics easily through technology. Rubistar (4Teachers.org)

Rubric Assignment • Use Rubistar (or another app) to create a rubric to assess an assignment in which your students create a digital story. • Add 1 additional category to the grading criteria: Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Create 4 levels of text to guide grading(levels 1-4). • Upload in Blackboard Module 5.
