  1. Attaching the Tether Where do all these wires go?

  2. Attaching the Tether Now we are going to attach the tether to the motors. We already attached the tether to the control box,

  3. Attaching the Tether Here’s what you’ll need: • Wire cutter/crimper/stripper • 8 Butt splices • Electrical tape • ROV with motors attached • Tether

  4. Attaching the Tether Strip about ¾ inch of wire off the end of the 8 tether wires Do the same to the and motor wires. brown black

  5. Attaching the Tether Determine which motor will be controlled by each switch. The colored wires going to the switch must be the same as the colored wires going to that motor. (For example, the motor you want to be controlled by this switch, should be connected to yellow and green wires.) Record which pairs of colored wires connect to which motors.

  6. Attaching the Tether Each motor is powered by one black and one brown wire. The brown and black wires will connect to the pairs of colored wires via butt splices. Insert the end of a colored wire and a motor wire into opposite sides of the butt splice. Crimp on both ends. Tug at wires to make sure they are securely locked in the butt splice. Secure each butt splice with electrical tape.

  7. Attaching the Tether You will need to zip tie your motor wires and tether wires in appropriate places to avoid tangling.
