  1. The world is evolving rapidly and more people than ever before are enjoying new freedoms and economic opportunities. However, these freedoms and opportunities are still beyond the reach of millions of women and girls who still suffer great discrimination, violence and neglect. UN Women was created to help women and girls break free form this generational cycle of violence and poverty. The issues are extremely complex and the solutions involve multi-level strategies that require funding and years to achieve. From providing technical assistance to help women achieve political parity in Tunisia to training women to run for political office in Africa to supporting girls’ shelters in war zones, UN Women is a change agent that is transforming the life of millions of women and girls worldwide. Welcome to the Miami Chapter of the U.S. National Committee for UN Women (USNC-UNW/Miami). The Miami Chapter was officially launched in June of 2012 by a group of caring and dedicated Miamians who are highly committed to helping women and girls achieve their dreams of living in a world where they are safe, respected and valued.

  2. Through local fundraising, education and advocacy, USNC-UNW/Miami is proud to support these UN efforts. I invite you to be part of this amazing movement.
