  3. The Flying Fox Bat have certain characteristics that make them a Mammal Here are some attributes: • They have hair or fur • They give birth to live young • Mammal mothers nurse their young with milk • They have lungs and need to breathe oxygen. • Mammals that live on land have 4 legs and ears that stick out.

  5. Have you ever seen a Flying Fox Bat? • After researching the Flying Fox Bat I learned that this mammal has adapted to his environment or surroundings in a variety of ways.

  6. Adaptation The giant golden-crowned flying bat lives near Burma, Thailand, and Indonesia. This animal has chosen to live in forests, swamps, and near small islands near the coast because their diet includes avocados, dates, mangos, and peaches. The flying fox has wings that can be used to hunt, to travel for food so he can eat his prey and to escape his predators.

  7. About the flying fox Bat • The giant golden-crowned flying bat can weight up to 2 ½ pounds. A bat can have long claws in his feet he uses it to hang on to a tree. Sometimes the flying fox bat’s claws are used to catch it’s prey but they have to fly to the prey in order to catch his prey. I think this bat looks like a brown flying possum. To help keep the flying fox bat flying the bat has a thin skin near the bat’s finger. A bat’s jaw has to be strong to eat fruits or other hard food. • A bat has ears and a eyes so that they can hear and see some bats depend on their ears more than their eyes. sometimes bat’s depend on their ears than there eyes. Some bat’s can smell for its prey. • The Flying Fox Bat’s teeth for eating fruit and scaring off predators to back off or to tell his predators if he’s dangerous. Their teeth are also used for griping fruit with it’s sharp edges so his diner won’t fall from his grip.

  8. How do bats camouflage Bats hide in caves so they look like the dark that is called mimicry. Or some bats hang on the trees so they look like the tree and the branches.

  9. IN conclusion The flying fox bat has adapted to it’s environment and this animal is currently on the endangered species list we need to help them by protect there habitats. Resources cited www.enchantedlearning.com Amazing bats Seymour Simon scholastic Inc., 2005
