  1. More than 4 decades in the packaging industry and still going strong! As we get closer to celebrating the 40th anniversary of Express Packaging, let us have a look back at how our journey evolved.

  2. Established in 1979 in the port of Savannah, Georgia as Port City Packaging, we began by serving locally owned Savannah companies looking for packaging solutions.

  3. In 1985 our company introduced the first Flexo Folder Gluer (FFG), giving us an edge on our competitors.

  4. Our growing list of happy customers enabled us to move into a bigger, 35,000-square-foot sewing factory in Pembroke, Georgia in 1986.

  5. In the year 1989, we rebuilt our 74×174 rotary slotter to a 74×192 to make it as accessible and efficient as possible while also expanding our facility.

  6. Years 1991 and 1995 marked the 2nd and 3rd phases of our expansion, allowing us to carry out more effective and efficient company practices.

  7. 1998: Switching to the flat bed die cutter from our Thomson die cutter enabled us to be more precise and also to add to our range of products.

  8. In 2001 we were continuously expanding to companies outside Savannah. The same year, Port City Packaging was renamed: Express Packaging. The final stages of our factory expansion were also completed this year now spanning 140,000 sq feet.

  9. Express Packaging implemented one of the largest machines in the south, the Jumbo Press, also known as Big Ben, sized at 92x21 in 2010.

  10. 2014 was the year when we introduced Sunrise, our Mini line flexo machine that gave us the ability to manufacture our smallest box.

  11. 2019marks our 40th anniversary Of business and to celebrate we are reaching yet another milestone! Express Packaging is acquiring a 110×230 Magellan multi-purpose machine which requires no die cutting tools and allows us to make RSC, OPF, 5PF, and FOL boxes.
