Enhancing Large-Scale Scientific Computing with IBM Equipment
The SP-XXL user group focuses on large-scale scientific and technical computing using IBM hardware, including Blue Gene systems. Our mission is to tackle critical issues for achieving terascale and petascale computing on scalable parallel machines. By collaborating, we can resolve challenges, improve guidance to IBM, and enhance our knowledge and capabilities through shared experiences. We invite institutions with large IBM installations to join us in addressing complex problems and developing capabilities that benefit the entire community. Visit us at http://www.spxxl.org/.

IBM User Group • …for sites which have large installations of IBM equipment. The focus of the SP-XXL group is on large-scale scientific/technical computing using IBM hardware. (incl. Blue Gene!) • …address topics across a wide range of issues that are important to achieving terascale/petasccale scientific/technical computing on scaleable parallel machines. • http://www.spxxl.org/
Goals By working together we are able to: • resolve issues using better solutions • provide better guidance to IBM • improve our own capabilities through sharing knowledge • collaborate to develop capabilities that we would not typically be able to do as individual institutions • Blue Gene Requirement List - for BG/L and BG/Q2006-2008: over 50 issues - most of them solved (for BG/P) • Combine requests from SP-XXL and BLueGene Consortium! • Join SP-XXL!
