  2. The Land of GennesaretMatthew 14:34 • Excitement of previous day now meets the sober teaching of the Bread of Life, and many turn away, John 6:62-66 • Yet, others recognized Jesus, and they spread the news so that many rushed to Him for healing, Mark 6:53-56

  3. The People Recognized Jesus Matthew 14:35; Mark 6:54

  4. Do you recognize Jesus? John 14:9 • False doctrines conceal the real Jesus: • Only a man, Jno 10:32-33 (Phil 2:5-8) • Only appeared to be human, 1 Jno 4:2-5 • Only worked miracles by power given Him by the Holy Spirit, Luke 4:14; 5:17 (Jno 10:17-18) • Not eternal God, but “a god” (JWs) • Spirit child born to Heavenly Father (LDS)

We must open our eyes and recognize Jesus, Luke 24:31-32 • Fulfilled prophecy, Lk 24:25-27, 44-45 • Testimony of eyewitnesses, Matt 14:35 • Credible testimony from those who knew about Jesus convinced others to go to Him • This is the same way lost souls come to Jesus for salvation, Matt 28:19-20; Acts 1:8 • We see Jesus with eyes of faith, Heb 2:9

  6. Do others recognize Jesus when they see us? Luke 6:40 • By our love for one another? Jno 13:34-35; 1 Jno 3:16-18 • By our unity in truth? Jno 17:20-21; Eph 4:3-6 • By our moral likeness of Christ? Col 3:10; Eph 4:20-24 • Otherwise, we are stumbling blocks to them, Matt 18:6-7

The news of Jesus spreadMatthew 14:35; Mark 6:55 • We must spread the news, Acts 8:4 • We have experienced His healing power, Matt 9:36-38 • Believers persuade others to come to Him, Jno 4:27-30, 39-42 • Those who want healing come to Jesus, Matt 11:28-30; Mark 2:1-5 • Yet, many reject Jesus even when His power is seen, Matt 11:20-24

  8. The sick pleaded and Jesus healed them, Matthew 14:36 • God saves all who come, Isa 59:1-2; 1 Tim 1:15 • Jesus offered Himself, Heb 2:17; 9:12 • He is the sinner’s only access to forgiveness, Heb 10:19-22 • Come to His light for life, Acts 13:47-49 • Jesus helps us when we are tempted, Heb 2:18; 4:14-16

The sick pleaded and Jesus healed them, Matthew 14:36 • Ways of escape, 1 Cor 10:13 • An example of how to resist temptation (Matt 4:1-11) • A living hope that urges us to endure • By prayer, to strengthen the faint, Phil 4:6-7 • By brethren who lift us up, Heb 12:12-13 • By working instead of being lazy, Heb 6:10-12 • By giving instead of taking, Acts 20:35

  10. Jesus gives perfect healing, Matthew 14:36 • No half measures; no incremental healing • Not so with today’s “faith-healers” • Benny Hinn – Being investigated by the U.S. Senate Finance Committee • Recently denied entrance into the United Kingdom

Benny Hinn is not like Jesus! • He is being questioned and is talking “about the financial probe, his lavish lifestyle and accusations that his faith healings are fake because he offers no documentation or verification that he has, in fact, helped the blind to see and the crippled to walk.” • “They question me on why I don’t verify,” Hinn says. “I answer, ‘God never called me to verify. I’m not a doctor.’” (FoxNews.com)

  12. Jesus is not like Benny Hinn! • Jesus, Jno 11:47; Acts 2:22 • His apostles, Acts 4:16 • No doubt when Jesus healed • No doubt when Jesus saves you, Mark 16:16; Acts 8:37-39

  13. Recognize the Father by recognizing Jesus, John 14:7-9 • In Jesus we come to fully know the heavenly Father • Come to Him for the healing of your soul • Spread the news that Jesus completely saves!
