Born in 1976, I graduated high school in 1995, married in 2002, and became a mother to Sam and Ben. In 2010, I returned to school full-time, graduating from NIACC in 2012 while juggling my family life, homework, and a job at Branding Iron. My commitment to education continues as I enroll at Waldorf College in January 2013 with the goal of graduating in 2015. I aspire to be the best substitute teacher, utilizing creative tools like PowerPoints in my teaching methods to engage students effectively while managing a busy family life.

Now My life today is crazy busy! I did resign from my position as a Paraeducator in May last year to attend college full time. But my days are far from empty! If I’m not in classes, I am doing homework while the laundry is going. I also sub at the local school and do field observation. My nights are filled with time with my husband and kids, helping them with their schoolwork or just ‘hanging out’. I also work Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at the Branding Iron to pick up some extra cash. Hiking at Pilot Knob Homework!
Where Am I Going? I will be continuing my education at Waldorf College in January 2013, receiving my degree in 2015. From then on I want to be the BEST substitute teacher I can be!
Reflection I love power points. I have used them in several classes, especially in my speech class. I think I will use power points for a lot of my instruction, as I believe they are a creative way to teach a lesson, making them fun and easy to follow.
