  1. In this document of research, I will be presenting conventions of radio news broadcast that I have researched picked up from listening to some radio news broadcasts and have researched. Codes and conventions of radio news

  2. It is conventional of Radio stations in general to identify the Radio station at the beginning of the broadcast, which may be used to help the listeners recognize where the news is coming from, so that in the future they can use the name of the radio station as reference for news. Hear the example: 1: The identification of the Radio Station:

  3. Along with the identification of the Radio station, the anchor also presents their name at the beginning of the broadcast and this happens along with the mention of the time of broadcast. Hear the example: 2: Anchor (News reader’s name) is mentioned:

  4. In radio news, headlines of the news that will be broadcasted are also introduced at the beginning of the broadcast and this is conventionally done as it cultivates the interest of the public. 3: Headlines are introduced:

  5. Radio news broadcast also use correspondents conventionally, so that they can show that thorough research has been conducted by the news team to gather as much factual information as possible. 4: The use of correspondents (reporters):

  7. This conventionally occurs in radio news broadcasts and is done to possibly wrap up the radio news broadcast and give news that can be useful to everyone, as weather is something that affects most people. 7: The presentation of weather after the news is presented:

  8. Conventionally radio news broadcast will present news in order of importance or relevance, with the most relevant or important being presented first. This is possibly done, because the most relevant or important news is what listeners would most likely want to hear about. 8: The order of news in relevance and importance:

  9. Background music is conventionally used at the beginning and end of a news broadcast. Secondly the background music used is conventionally the same for all broadcast from the radio station and this has used to possibly allow listeners to identify with the radio station using the background music used. 9: The user of background music:
