Research Goals: • To document the tools used and the textiles produced by Louisiana Acadians in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries • To provide a better understanding of the culture, heritage and history of the Acadians in South Louisiana 1858 handmade spinning wheel and boutonne fabric, LSU Textile & Costume Museum

  3. Uses of Handwoven Acadian Textiles • As household • textiles • As garments Acadian Textile exhibition, LSU Textile & Costume Museum

  4. Handmade cypress swift used to hold skein of yarn (Longfellow Evangeline State Historic Area)
