  3. Hurricanes A hurricane goes faster than 75 mph. A huge amount of rain falls during a hurricane. Hurricanes die out when they come across a colder ocean.-Kaylee

  4. Hurricanes Hurricanes can seriously hurt people. People are warned by radio or TV to get ready for the hurricane. They have to get water and a flashlight and find a safe place to hide.-Kara

  5. Hurricanes A hurricane is made up of winds that have a high speed. Sometimes a hurricane has rain and lightning. A hurricane can occur for ten days!-Anthony

  6. Hurricanes Satellites take pictures from outer space. If the weather is going to be bad it sends a signal to the forecast station. Hurricanes can travel up to 150 mph! They can result in a flood.-Luke

  8. Clouds Some clouds are made out of ice. Some clouds are made out of water vapor. Fog is a cloud we can walk in.-Isaac

  9. Cirrus Clouds Cirrus clouds are high in the sky. They have fluffy tails on them. The cirrus cloud is white.-Katie

  11. Stratus Clouds Stratus clouds look like blankets. Stratus clouds are low and gray. Snow can fall from stratus clouds.-Mark

  12. Cumulonimbus Clouds Cumulonimbus clouds are the kind of clouds you see in a thunderstorm. They look like a mountain. Cumulonimbus clouds are low in the sky.-Aidan

  14. Tornadoes There are tornadoes called a rope tornado. It looks like a rope. It is not as wide as a wedge tornado.-Sean

  15. Tornadoes Tornadoes are also called twisters or whirlwinds. There are dust devils, dirty tornadoes, in Texas. About 1,000 tornadoes hit America each year.-Jordan

  17. Tornadoes The shape of a tornado is called a funnel. Tornadoes can destroy a house. If a tornado is coming, go to a room below ground.-Adalyn

  20. Lightning Lightning is dangerous. It can strike houses and trees. You should stay in your house when there is lightning. Stay out of water when it is lightning.-Tim

  21. Lightning Lightning is a spark in the sky. It is made in the clouds. Lightning is very hot. It can be different colors.-Crystal

  22. Lightning Lightning can get to 60,000 degrees. You can see lightning before you hear thunder. A long time ago, people believed thunder was a sign that their gods were angry.-Christopher

  24. Seasons In the fall, a lot of changes are happening to the outdoors. The leaves turn red, orange, and gold. The days are growing shorter. At some point during the fall, the leaves fall off the trees.-Jalyssa

  25. Winter Winter time is very cold. In the winter, you can play in the snow with your friends. Many people like to make snowmen and forts.-Randy

  26. Seasons There are seasons; summer, spring, fall, and winter. In the spring, flowers and trees bloom. In the summer, the sun is hot. My favorite season is the fall.-Rebecca

  28. Blizzards Blizzards can cause an avalanche. An avalanche can bury people and animals. It is dangerous to drive in a blizzard.-Keyshawn

  29. Blizzards Snowflakes have six sides. Blizzards make it hard to see. The wind and snow make big drifts.-Maylana

  30. Blizzards A blizzard is when snow comes down with a strong wind. Blizzard winds can make snowballs called “snowrollers”.-Latasa
