Outcomes of Interim meeting (concluded) • 0903-TD-7 Proposal for the functional entities of Y.MMCF • Mobility Location Management Functional Entity (MLM-FE) agreed • Network Information Repository Functional Entity (NIR-FE) agreed • Continuing discussion (at time of writing) on how finely to divide the remaining functions of network information distribution, handover decision, and handover control. • Need a sufficiently refined model that mapping between it and 3GPP entities (e.g. ANDSF) is possible. • Basic underlying issue is what the linkages there are amongst the FEs and between them and the UE. Would like to limit the number of interfaces supported by the UE (e.g. to MLM-FE and one other FE).
