I’ve been doing a lot of new activities. My band is playing a gig this Saturday, actually. We’re pretty good; I think it’s going to be a good show. I’m very excited! School has been going well, too. My new students are very nice, and very smart. I think we’re going to have a fun year. I hope to hear from you soon! Sincerely, Jake P.S. – Be sure to send me a picture of your new cat!

  11. Envelopes • Letters should be sent in BUSINESS SIZE envelopes (9.5” x 4.25”)

  12. Writing on the Envelope • Use ALL CAPITAL LETTERS • Do not use punctuation (you may use abbreviations, but do not punctuate them). • Punctuation Exceptions: Hyphens in Zip+4 codes or Proper names, slashes in “Care of” indicators (C/O) • Line up the beginnings of the address information

  13. Mailing Address A mailing address generally consists of: • Floor/Apt. # (or PO Box#) • Business/School Name • House/Building # and Street • City/Town, State (identified by 2 letter postal abbrev.), and ZIP code or ZIP+4

  14. Setting up the Envelope:Return Address • In the upper left corner write YOUR name and mailing address. • Use small print.

  16. Setting up the Envelope:Addressing the Envelope • In the center of the envelope write the name and mailing address of the RECIPIENT. • Use larger print than you did for your return address.

  17. Address Information (1) • Mailing addresses work in reverse order. • The last line is the least specific • It tells the area of the country (city, state, ZIP+4 code) • Click here for more info. on ZIP codes

  30. Sealing your Envelope (1) • Lick the glue flap on the back of the envelope

  31. Sealing your Envelope (2) • Close the flap.
