  1. Welcome back! • Please sit in the seat you given when you walked in, seating charts will be given again in case you forgot. • Next I would like you to number a lined sheet of paper #’s 1-15, if you do not have paper there is some on the table to the left by the door. • Once that is complete if you did not get a chance to finish your information or survey sheets please complete those.

  2. Mr. Roman Nardozi Louisiana History McKinley Middle Academic Magnet Baton Rouge, LA

  3. Am I in the Right Room? • Mr. Nardozi • Louisiana History • Room 808

  4. Does everyone have their schedule written in their planner? • Did anyone lose their planner? • Does everyone know how they’re getting home today? • I know, I know you want to stay here but you have to go home at some point.

  5. Will this teacher treat me fairly? YES!

  6. Where Am I suppose to Sit? • You received a seating chart with numbers on it as you entered the room, that will be your seat for the foreseeable future. • Once schedules are finalized, everyone will have a desk and a number assigned by the teacher. Your seat may still stay the same. • If I mispronounce your name during roll call, please correct me.

  7. First attempt at passing items in! (timed) • Everyone will pass their seating charts to the person in front of them. • Once all papers in the first row(closest to the teachers’ desk) are collected they will be passed to the first person in the second row to the left. • That first person in the second row will pass to the first person in the third row. • This continues until ALL of the papers are with the first person in the last row(the row closest to the door)

  8. Materials (you may keep these supplies in your class bin) • Bring your materials to class! • These will need to be brought to class by next Thursday (9/15) for A-Day and next Friday (9/16) for B-Day! • 1-1-1/2 in binder with dividers • Journal • Writing utensil

  9. How will I be graded? • Your grades will be calculated based on a variety of assignments including tests, quizzes, projects, binder checks, journal checks, etc. You will also earn a participation grade based on the students willingness to participate and answer questions as opportunities arise throughout the daily lessons. • Participation is mainly handled through classdojo. It will be 10 points per week.

  10. Late work change! • The 8th grade as a team will NOT be taking any late work from students. • Bottom line turn your work in when it is due. If you miss an assignment it is not the end of the world but do not make it a habit. • Projects will be dealt with differently. If you are absent for a quiz or test you will need to see me in order to schedule a make up.
