This information was carefully procured from the public resources (University Web Sites) based on current (2010-2011) catalog readings. All the indicated schools use some form of placement testing – frequently COMPASS, ACT, or SAT – and require a score comparable to within a point or two, to determine eligibility into the basic freshman English composition program. All provide at least one course for those students not ready for that placement required course.
