A • Audubon James – painter of birds and other wildlife authored birds of American which remains the most comprehensic of American birds today • Adams Samuel – Boston patriot who opposed British taxation he established the committee of conespondence leader of the sons of liberty and insisted a bill of rights be added to the constitution before ratification

  3. B • Benjamin Franklin – author, publisher inventor, and a diplomat • Bernardo de Galvez – Spaniard who held off British in new Orleans but allowed Americans use of the port

  4. C • Crispus Attucks – American hero and martyr of the Boston massacre • Chess well Wentworth – Educated African American patriot, made the same midnight ride as Paul Revere warning that the British were coming

  5. D • Deere john – inventor of the steel plow • Dorothea Dix – reformer who fought to improve the care of the mentally ill

  6. E • Eli Whitney – invented the cotton gin interchangeable parts • English bill of rights – called for frequent elections; guaranteed right bear arms, for bade and unusual punishment; restated trail by jury
