  2. Genre The story is fantasy because swans can’t write and play trumpet.

  3. Main Character Louis is a trumpeter swan who can’t speak. He is extraordinary because he learns to write, he has a trumpet, a life saving medal, a slate and chalk pencil and a money bag. He is honest because he pays off the trumpet his dad stole. He is smart because he can write. Louis is loyal to Serena (his love) because he loves her. He protects her and keeps her from harm too.

  4. The Setting The Trumpet of the Swan takes place in Montana where Louis grows up. Then Boston where he plays trumpet for the swan boat. Finally the Philadelphia zoo where he plays trumpet for a night club.
