Giraffes. Desire’ Gabino. Habitat. Giraffes live in open habitats, primarily wooded savannas and open woodlands. Giraffes do not live in areas dominated by moist tropical forest. Predators. Lions, spotted hyenas, leopards and Nile crocodiles.

  2. Habitat • Giraffes live in open habitats, primarily wooded savannas and open woodlands. • Giraffes do not live in areas dominated by moist tropical forest.

  3. Predators • Lions, spotted hyenas, leopards and Nile crocodiles. • If attacked, a giraffe can kill by kicking their predator.

  4. Prey • Actually the giraffes doesn't have a prey unless you consider plants and leaves its prey. • Giraffes are Herbivores.

  5. Adaptations • Giraffes' eight-foot necks allow them to reach feeding places that other herbivores can't. • They're well-adapted to drought and can go a month without water, relying on the water content of their food and morning dew.

  6. Additional facts • Baby giraffes are born six feet tall, taller than the average person. • They can grow an inch a day and just about double their height in one year.

  7. Additional facts • A Giraffe usually only sleeps for 1-12 minutes! • The heart of a Giraffe weighs about 24 pounds. • Their tongues are about 18 inches long!
