  3. During this six weeks….. we will see that variables can be identified, controlled, and manipulated to cause positive and negative outcomes.

  4. We will also discover the variables that can change the Earth such as plate tectonics, earthquakes, volcanoes, weathering, and erosion.

  5. From 1850-1929, historic variables impacted our country. You can learn that industrialization, immigration, and urbanization caused changes in the environment of the United States.

  6. We hope you are ready to explore variables from the perspective of student, scientist, and historian.

  7. Guiding Questions: • Why is identifying variables important? • How do the variables that change the Earth's surface affect each other? • Why did historic variables have such an impact on our country during 1850-1929?
