An Explorer's Journey: Career, Ships, and Encounters

In this interview, a seasoned explorer reflects on his early career as a business agent and his passion for the sea. He shares the names of his iconic ships, the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria, and reveals that he is the oldest of five siblings, with familial pressure to pursue his father's wool weaving business. At age 14, he embarked on his maritime adventure as a ship boy and recounts his childhood dream of becoming a sailor. He also discusses a harrowing encounter with pirates during his travels and the challenges faced with the Arawak tribe.
