  2. Biographical Information • Amy Tan was born in Oakland, California on February 19,1952. Amy lost her father and her older brother to brain tumors when she was 15 both within a year. Her mom moved Amy and her brother and put them both in school and graduated. Amy wrote about her life in her books and is a best selling novelist.

  3. What Amy thinks About Writing Amy says that she escaped from everything that was miserable in her life when she read books. When she read she could become anyone she wanted to be in a story. Amy says that it was sinful how much she liked it. Amy also says that she believes that she is blessed with a wild imagination. Whatever she thought of she saw and she needed an outlet for all that imagination, so she found books.

  4. Where Amy Thinks Where The Creativity Comes From Amy believes that the imagination comes from a wild imagination with se believes she was blessed with a wild imagination. She also thinks it comes from life and what she has lived and experienced in the life she is living. Also from how she felt and why she felt that way.

  5. Accomplishments In Life Amy has a best selling novel in New York with the book The Joy Luck Club. She was written may books like Fish Checks, Saving Fish From Drowning, and The Joy Luck Club. She has won and been nominated for 19 awards such as New York Times Notable Book, Finalist National Book Awards, Academy Of Achievement and the Golden Plate Award. Amy is also a best selling novelist.
