  2. Abstract This contribution discusses a few options for the name of TGaq protocol. And based on the result of initial straw poll, a further straw pool is introduced to facilitate progress in the task group. Yunsong Yang, Huawei

  3. It was proposed (in 11-13-0788r4) that the TGaq protocol be named as the Service Transaction Protocol (STP). However, some TG members commented that the name should be reconsidered to precisely express what 11aq was about. In addition, within IEEE 802 community, STP is better known as the acronym for Spanning Tree Protocol. Thus, it may be more appropriate to use a different name (and acronym) for the TGaq protocol.   4. During the Study Group phase, this group was called SG PAD, standing for Pre-association Discovery. And Pre-association is one key characteristic of the use cases being considered by the TG. Thus, • Proposal 1. TGaq use “Pre-association” (PA) in the protocol name. • It seems reasonable that the protocol name should result in a 4-letter acronym, similar to ANQP, RLQP. • Proposal 2. TGaq name the protocol “Pre-association x Protocol” with an acronym of PAXP, and choose “x” and “X” to be one of a few options as follows: • Option 1: Pre-association Discovery Protocol (PADP) • Option 2: Pre-association Messaging Protocol (PAMP) • Option 3: Pre-association Query Protocol (PAQP) • Option 4: Pre-association Transaction Protocol (PATP) Discussion Yunsong Yang, Huawei
