  2. Introduction • Cloud Gate: the oldest dance in China • First professional dance theatre in Taiwan • All of their performance have more than 60000 audience. • Performed in many countries • 8/21: Cloud Gate Day

  3. Lin Hwai-min • In 1947: was born in Chiayi, Taiwan, Newport • In 1969: 22 years old, published the short story collection, "Cicada" • In 1973, 26 years old, returned to Taipei and founded "Cloud Gate Dance Theater," Taiwan's first modern dance troupe

  4. Lin Hwai-min • In 1980: the fifth National Arts Award and the third prize of Wu San-lien Awards • In 1996: "Asian Artist Award for Lifetime Achievement" by New York City Department of Cultural Affairs • In 2005: TIME magazine's Asian Heroes in 2005

  5. The status of our country has risen in international society. • Lin is the second winner of the Movimentos Dance Awards. • He combines Asian and European cultures into his dance. • His famous works have been broadcasted by European art channel by German television station.
