Pharaohs

The pharaohs were living gods and monarchs , they ruled Egypt for thousands of years. The Egyptians made pyramids to bury the kings and they put gold in tombs for the pharaohs to enjoy the Next Life. Pharaohs. Hieroglyphics. Could be words or letters of the alphabets, they wrote on papyrus.

  1. The pharaohs were living gods and monarchs , they ruled Egypt for thousands of years. The Egyptians made pyramids to bury the kings and they put gold in tombs for the pharaohs to enjoy the Next Life . Pharaohs

  2. Hieroglyphics • Could be words or letters of the alphabets, they wrote on papyrus.

  3. Scribes They were the only people in Ancient Egypt who could read and write the sacred hieroglyphs that would appear on temples and in tombs. Scribes were also government officials of all sort and could be lawyers.

  4. Rosetta Stone • The Rosetta stones was so important because it had three different languages Greek , Hieroglyph and Demotic.

  5. Mummification • They mummified the dead bodies of the kings because they needed the bodies in the Next Life.

  6. Gods The most important gods were Anubis, Oris and Isis. Oris: The god of water.Her head was like the one of a crocodile. Anubis: The god of embalming and the dead. His head was like the one of a jackal. Isis: The god of truth and justice. He had beautiful wings.

  7. TUTANKAMEN'S DISCOVERY Howard Carter discovered the tomb of King Tutankamen in the Valley of kings.

  8. What Egyptians Looked like • The clothes were made oflinen, from plants. Men and women, rich or poor wore jewellery were silver, glazed pottery and semi- precious stones.
