  4. Grammar: Complete Sentences Every sentence has two parts: A naming part (noun) An action part (verb) If it does not have both parts, it is not a complete sentence.

  5. Grammar: Complete Sentences If a sentence is not complete, it is called a fragment. It will not have a complete thought. Examples: 1. the little dog 2. ran home

  6. Grammar: Complete Sentences Write a naming part for each action part. ____________buried the bone. ___________wore a crown of gold. _______________mailed a letter. _____________ flew to the tree.

  7. Grammar: Complete Sentences Write an action part for each naming part. A frog _______________________. My mother ____________________. The baby ____________________.

  8. Grammar: Complete Sentences Use these words to make a complete sentence. Noun Verb Noun dog ran ball sister played bird teacher wrote book bird chased worm

  18. One day Jesus said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake.”

  19. So they got into a boat and set out.

  20. Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake.

  21. The waves swept over the boat.

  22. But Jesus was sleeping.

  23. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

  24. “Master, don’t you care if we drown?”

  25. He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?”

  26. He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!”

  27. Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.

  28. The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”
