APRE is a non-profit research organisation based in Italy that provides information, assistance and training in order to promote Italian participation on European Research and Technological Development programmes. It is supported by approximately 100 member organisations, including both public and private research centres, industries, industrial associations, banks, chambers of commerce, science parks and 50 universities.

[MISSION] in the Seventh Framework Programme APRE has been appointed by the Italian Ministry of Research and the European Commission as host organization of the Italian National Contact Points for all the themes and programmes to promote Italian participation on European Research and Technological Development programmes. assistance training information

  4. During its 20 years of experience, APRE has established numerous contacts with the most relevant research organisations in Italy, and has a sound network of contacts with enterprises. APRE can help potential proposers in identifying suitable partners and establish contacts in order to submit transnational proposals within the Framework Programmes.

Research fields are freely chosen by the applicants, except: • research activity aiming at human cloning for reproductive purposes • research activity intended to modify the genetic heritage of human beings which could make such changes heritable • research activities intended to create human embryos solely for the purpose of research or for the purpose of stem cell procurement, including by means of somatic cell nuclear transfer • areas of research covered by the EURATOM Treaty [Bottom-up approach]

For experiencedresearchers!be in possession of a doctoral degree or have at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience • Mobility: at the time of the deadline for submission of proposals, researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity in the country of their host organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the reference date • “bottom-up” approach • The project proposals are submitted by experienced researchers in liaison with a host organisation • The Grant Agreement signed between the host organisation (MS/AC) and the REA [Individualdriven MCA]

Experienced researchers of any nationality active in an Other Third Country • To reinforce the scientific excellence of the Member States and the Associated countries through knowledge sharing • Duration of between 12 and 36 months, with an incoming phase of 12 to 24 months and a possible return phase of 12 months (full time equivalent) • For the ICPC, the possibility to return in the country • The project proposals are submitted by experienced researchers in liaison with the incoming host organisation [International IncomingFellowships- IIF]

Aims To strengthen research partnerships through staff exchanges and networking activities between European research organisations and research organisations from countries with which the European Union has an S&T agreement or is in the process of negotiating one, and countries covered by the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) to establish or reinforce long-term research cooperation IRSES (International Research Staff Exchange Scheme)

Participation rules – countries EU Member States (MS) Associated countries (AC) Countries with EU International agreements on S&T: Algeria*, Argentina*, Australia, Brazil*, Canada, China*, Chile*, Egypt*, India*, Japan, Jordan*, Rep. of Korea, Mexico*, Morocco,* New Zealand, Russia*, South Africa*, Tunisia*, Ukraine*, United States. Countries of the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP): Eastern Partnership Countries: Armenia*, Azerbaijan*, Belarus*, Georgia*, Moldova*, Ukraine* and Mediterranean Partnership Countries (MPC) that are not associated countries: Algeria*, Egypt*, Jordan*, Lebanon*, Libya*, Morocco*, Palestinian administrated areas*, Syrian Arab Rep.*, Tunisia*. * International Cooperation Partner Countries (ICPC) eligible for funding in IRSES

Participants rules At least 2 independent research organisations in two different MS/AC One or more organisations in THIRD COUNTRY Additional partners from any sector and from any other country welcome Joint multi-annual programmes of 24-48 months IRSES (International Research Staff Exchange Scheme)

  19. Eligible researchers : Research staff mainly, but also technical and management staff Min. 1 month - max. 12 months/researcher Staff is seconded (not recruited) IRSES (International Research Staff Exchange Scheme)

  20. IRSES (International Research Staff Exchange Scheme) All partners involved in a joint exchange programme are expected to second their staff and thus continue paying their salary during the stay abroad. • Funding is based on a flat rate of € 1900 per person/month of secondment • The contribution is intended to contribute to the costs for the • staff exchange include travel and subsistence, networking activities, management costs and overheads directly related to the implementation of the exchange

  21. For staff from MS or AC, the mobility must take place towards the other third country partner organisations and from the other third country partner organisations towards MS and AC participants Staff exchange between European beneficiaries or between other third country partner organisations is not eligible for funding IRSES (International Research Staff Exchange Scheme)
