To search for a book in the GH library, click GHHS Website > Media Center > Destiny. Click on the Basic or Power (Advanced) search tab. In Basic , search by Keyword , Title , Author , Subject , or Series. For an author search, type: author’s last name, first name.

In Basic, search by Keyword, Title, Author, Subject, or Series. For an author search, type: author’s last name, first name Omit A, An, & The at the beginning of a title
In Power search, you can narrow your search with AND, OR, NOT.
Try It: Find a book about European art during the Renaissance. If you type art in the basic search box, your results are:KEYWORD=805 books SUBJECT=286 books TITLE=178 books
Now use the Power Search. Type art in the 1st search box & renaissance in the 2nd.
Narrow it further with a 3rd search term. Now you have 8 books for European Art during the Renaissance.
Compare this with Google search results – only 27,000,000 sites to examine, & the 1st one is Wikipedia. Which sites can you trust?

How do you find a fiction book? 1. Find the call number of the book using Destiny. 2. These prefixestell you the library section in which the book is located: • FIC (Fiction) • SC (Story Collection) • Graphic (Graphic novels) FIC A - Z (on right wall)

How do you find a nonfiction book? Call numbers = Dewey Decimal number + 1st 3 letters of author’s last name or beginning of title, if no author 000 – 999 (see map for locations)
How do you find a nonfiction book? If the call number hasBIO (Biography) or GRAPHIC (Graphic books can be fiction or nonfiction), refer to the map below to locate the book. Ignore the REF, CAR, & PREP prefixes. These books are all interfiled in Nonfiction.
