  2. Unit summary • Children will understand the various causes of partition of India. They will relate the topic to the division of Germany and Korean peninsula. Further, they shall apply the learnt knowledge to understand the ideology of the present day political parties like shiv sena,indian Muslim league etc.

  3. CFQ • Essential Question Is Gandhi responsible for partition?. Unit question . How can we fight communal forces? Content questions. what is the meaning of partition? Enlist the political, social and economic factors resulting into partition of India? Was it possible to prevent partition of India?

  4. Vision for unit • By creating this unit, I want to : Analyze the mixing of religion and politics by our leaders to further their interests. During this unit I want my students to: respect the composite culture of our country, love for different religions, and to keep religion a private matters.

  5. Project approaches • As my students work on this project, they .learn the right approach to understand the historical developments. .Learn to critically examine the functioning of communal forces in the present day society. .Learn to interact with their peer-group, spread all over the world. .learn to upgrade their computer knowledge.

  6. 21st century learning and higher order thinking. • Students will develop higher-order and 21st century skills in this unit as they .use their learnt knowledge to analyze the growth of terrorist activities in Assam,J&k. .the influence of religious political parties on the govt. .the appeasement policy of govt. to win over the minorities. the game plan of fundamentalists to justify terrorism in the name of religion.
