  1. 3Now by this we know that we have come to know God: if we keep his commandments. 4 The one who says “I have come to know God” and yet does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in such a person. 5 But whoever obeys his word, truly in this person the love of God has been perfected. By this we know that we are in him. 6 The one who says he resides in God ought himself to walk just as Jesus walked.1 John 2:3-6 NET

And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.” • John 14:23-24 ESV - 23Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. 24 Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father's who sent me.

Jesus’ Obedience • John 4:34 ESV - 34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work. • John 6:38 ESV - 38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. • John 12:49-50 ESV - 49 For I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment—what to say and what to speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has told me.” • John 14:30-31 ESV - 30 I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no claim on me, 31 but I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us go from here. • John 15:10 ESV - 10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.

  10. Jesus’ Obedience • Philippians 2:8 ESV - 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. • Luke 22:42 ESV - 42 saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”
