Software License • Software license is an agreement between the software manufacturer and the purchaser of the software about the usage rights of the software • Now a days, License is processed electronically, during installation
Shoper 9 Licensing • Simple and user-friendly Licensing mechanism through online process • You can self administer all the deployments, including surrendering and reactivation of licenses • Shoper 9 has Single Site and Multi Site licenses
Single Site Licensing • A Single site licensing refers to a single license of Shoper 9 installed at a location • This may be a license for Silver, Gold or Diamond
Activating Single Site License • Complete the Shoper 9 installation process • Ensure you have an active internet connection • Start Shoper 9 (HO or POS)
Activating Single Site License • The Shoper 9 Start-up screen appears • Click Manage License
Activating Single Site License • The Manage License screen is displayed. • If you are activating a license for the first time, select Activate License

Activating Single Site License • Enter the Serial Number and Activation Key provided during the purchase of Shoper 7.2/ 9. • Enter a valid e-mail id and repeat the same in the Repeat (E-Mail ID of Administrator). • It is important to provide a valid e-mail. Your Account Id is created using the e-mail Id provided. • Unlock key, password and other account related information is sent to this e-mail Id. • Tally.NET account is also created using the given Id.
Activating Single Site License • The Activate License form is displayed. • Click Submit
Activating Single Site License • A Congratulations message is displayed. • The e-mail Id that will receive the unlock key and the Tally.NET account are displayed in the message. • Click OK

Activating Single Site License • The Manage License screen now displays the options Unlock License and Reset License • Select UnLock License • Click Continue
Activating Single Site License • The Unlock License screen is displayed • Enter the Unlock Key received by e-mail • Click Submit to activate the Shoper 9 License
Activating Single Site License • A Congratulations message is displayed • Click OK to return to Manage License screen
Activating Single Site License • The Manage License now displays the options Update License, Surrender License and Reset License. • Close Manage License screen.
Activating Single Site License • To view the license details, start Shoper 9 and login • The license details are displayed in the Shoper 9 Info Panel • Serial No., Account ID, Site ID, Edition and Mode details are displayed • This completes the license activation process
Shoper 9 Multi Site Licensing • A Multi site licensing refers to licenses of Shoper 9 installed at different locations that are linked to a single account • This may be a collection of licenses of Silver, Gold and/ or Diamond • This enables central management of multiple Licenses running at different sites in a secured environment
Multi Site Account • Every Shoper 9 customer gets an account • This account is called a Tally.NET Account ID (frequently referred to as Account ID) • An Account ID has one Account Administrator, recognised by an E-mail ID • In Multi Site Account each site will have a Site ID • Also, every site will have one Site Administrator, recognised by an E-mail ID
Multi Site Account • The Account ID will be common for all the sites • You can choose the name you want to use as the Account ID but it has to be unique across all the customers of Tally • To ensure uniqueness, it is recommended that you use an E-mail ID as the Account ID • The Account ID is created by Tally Solutions
Activation of Multi Site License • If you are activating a license for the first time, select Activate License • Click Continue
Activation of Multi Site License • If it is the first time activation for your organisation, select Activation of an Additional Site for your organization • Click Continue
Activation of Multi Site License • Enter the Serial Number and Activation Key provided with the Shoper 9 CD
Activation of Multi Site License • Enter the Account ID provided by your Head Office • Enter a unique name as Site ID
Activation of Multi Site License • Enter E-Mail ID of Site Administrator and repeat the same
Activation of Multi Site License This is the E-Mail ID of Site Administrator who will administer the license for this particular site. The unlock key will be sent to this E-mail address. • Click Submit

Activation of Multi Site License • The Manage License screen now displays the options UnLock License and Reset License • Select UnLock License • Click Continue

Update License • Product enhancements are regularly released in the form of patches • These patches can be updated in the application using LiveUpdate • When you update the application, it is needed to update the license • This will enable Tally Solutions maintain version details of your application • When further updates are released, a mail will be sent to you depending on the license details available with Tally Solutions • Updation of License has to be done when you make any changes using Control Centre (this will be discussed later)
Update License • To update license of Shoper 9 • Start Shoper 9 • Click Manage License • Select Update License • Click Continue • A message is displayed on successful updation of the license
Surrender License • During planned re-installation, such as: • Changing the hardware (Hard disk or Mother Board) • Moving Shoper 9 from one system to another • Changing the Operating System
Surrender License • Go to Manage License • Select Surrender License • Click Continue
Surrender License • A confirmation message is displayed • Click OK to continue
Surrender License • A message is displayed • Click OK
Surrender License • In the case of an Unplanned re-installation such as System crash, then: • Surrender Shoper 9 license using the Control Centre from Tally website • You can reactivate the license later
Reset License • The Reset License option is available as and when the activation request is made • You can reset your license if you do not receive the unlock key after activation request • Resetting license will remove active license information from your system • Then, you have to surrender your license using Control Centre
Reset License • To reset your Shoper 9 license • Select Reset License • Click Continue • A confirmation message is displayed
Reactivating Single Site License • Ensure you have an active internet connection • Run Shoper 9 POS • On Shoper 9 splash screen click Manage License
