National Agro Foundation • National Agro Foundation (NAF) was set up as a Public Charitable Trust in 2000 by Late Mr. C Subramaniam (Freedom Fighter, Architect of India’s Green Revolution and Bharat Ratna Awardee, U Thant Prize Winner) to usher in Rural Revolution with prime focus on Agriculture. • Dr A P J Abdul Kalam succeeded Mr. Subramaniam as the Chairman of NAF Governing Council. Dr. R K Pachauri, Chairman- The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) is heading the NAF Governing Council currently. • Vision :To createa “Healthy, Literate and Prosperous Rural India”. Food Security • Mission:Creating replicable models of prosperous rural clusters throughecologically safe, environmentally sustainable farm and non farmsector activities, natural resource management, rural enterprises andhuman resource development by networking various stakeholders throughmutually beneficial partnerships

Food Security … through Sustainable Agriculture Dairy Development – Veterinary Support Services Fodder Development – Nutritious feeding for high yielding cross breeds Freshwater Aquaculture – Promotion of agri allied sector Inclusive growth approach with special focus on small and marginal farmers (predominantly BPL) Graduation from subsistence farming to market led farming Promotion of Integrated Farming Systems

Encouraging Women in Agriculture - for Food and Nutritional Security Ms Devaki, Kumili Village in her Kitchen Garden Ms Indumathi, Thenneripattu Village in her SRI field Substantial increase in Farm productivity levels (15-50%) in smallholders’ farms leading to significant increase (profit ~ 25-75 %) in the family income. Women Farmers with their upgraded crossbred cattle Milk yield improvement to the tune of 300%
