Establish Local Policies • Titles in the circulating collection • Titles published prior to 1900 • Titles published before 1850 will be transferred to the Special Collections Total Titles: 86 (56 Language & Literature, 16 History) • Titles published between 1850 and 1899 will be VLCC candidates

  4. MSU VLCC Pilot Project Total Titles (1850-1899): 692 17% 7% 54% 22%

  7. Team Activities & Procedures(cont.) • Circulation: • Pull books off the shelf and put them on the book truck • After processing, place the books back on the shelf

  8. Team Activities & Procedures(cont.) • Collection Development/Acquisitions: • Review books and verify the VLCC candidates • Eliminate reprints • Select for bindery/mending • Order reprint second copy if heavily circulated

  10. Edit VLCC MARC records in MSU Library Catalog • Add Item Category 1: VLCC • Change the item to Do Not Circulate • Make a Staff Note

  11. Edit MARC records in JerseyCat Union Catalog • Log into JerseyCat: http://njsl-agent.auto-graphics.com

  12. Check off Montclair State and New Jersey State Union Catalog • Search book by title

  15. Pull Books off the Shelf Place Books Back on the Shelf Run Report Edit & Load MARC Records into JerseyCat Review & Verify VLCC Candidates
