  1. Dark Matter: Black Hole Study Task: • Open up google docs and make a powerpoint • Set up in the Problem, Research, Hypothesis, Test, Analysis of Data, and Conclusion format • Your problem (challenge): Proxima Centauri, the star closest to our sun, has undergone a supernova, and formed a black hole. The star was 4.2 light years away. The year is 2119. Your team has perfected space travel at Use the NASA website as well as the below link: https://www.nasa.gov/audience/foreducators/rocketry/home/rockets_stack_up_nf.html#11

  2. light speed -Your group must design and build a probe which will detect data and send that data back to Earth -Your group must determine: A) what matter are you looking for in the Black Hole B) what do black holes supposedly do to objects, and how long could an object

  3. survive in a black hole? -Your group should create a model of the Black Hole showing your probe entering the probe -Your group should design a space craft which would take the probe to the black hole

  4. The research section contains facts used from the Astronomy and Seasons units (you must use at least 2 facts from each unit), NASA.gov, https://www.nasa.gov/audience/foreducators/rocketry/home/rockets_stack_up_nf.html#11, and one other teacher APPROVED website

  5. Hypothesis should state what you expect to find within the black hole, and why

  6. Materials: Rocket Kit Paper Building Materials (you may supply your own as well)

  7. What you need for the final grade 1. Scientific Method format completed on powerpoint 2. Written diagram of a spacecraft 3. Designed and built model of the probe which would send data back from the Black Hole 4. Model of the Black Hole (functioning)
