Registration Form: Due March 8th • Your registration form will include your course requests and your Pathway Selection. • All forms must be signed by a parent/guardian.
Pathway selection and Registration sheet Basics • MYP stands for “Middle Years Program”. All students at PHS are MYP students. • The number listed in parentheses is how many credits the class is worth. (5) = 1 Semester (10) = 2 Semester/One Year • Classes with a * have a prerequisite. Prerequisites can be found in the Curriculum Guide on the PHS website. • Classes with a “CE” are potentially available for Concurrent Enrollment/College Credit.
MYP Freshman Seminar Freshman Seminar is a class for all students to build the academic and social skills to be successful high school students and effective members of the school and community. The PHS Ambassadors mentor students in Seminar all year and students spend time developing their Individual Career and Academic Plans (ICAP).
World language • World Languages Offered: Spanish, German and French • Most 4-Year Colleges require 2-3 years of the SAME Foreign Language • Spanish Literacy Courses are for Native Spanish Speakers
What is a pathway? • A college and career oriented community that is industry focused and provides a lens for student learning. • Features rigorous core academic learning (MYP) and Career and Technical Education coursework. • Opportunities for college credit and certifications including work-based learning in real-world workplaces. • All PHS students will choose a pathway that will guide their learning over their four years at PHS. • Students can take classes from any of the PHS Pathways.

Important Registration Reminders • Make sure that your name is on your Course Request Sheet • Indicate your TOP TWO PATHWAYS CHOICES • Current 8th Graders must register for at least 80 credits • Select 15 credits of alternate courses • Make sure you get a Parent/Guardian Signature
Registration collection Counselors will come to your school in about 2 weeks to collect your course request forms
