  4. CLASS EXPECTATIONS • Arrive on time • Be motivated and ready to learn • Ask questions • Keep cell phones on silent mode

  5. Day One Agenda Welcome/Schedule Overview Parking Pass and Student ID Class Expectations Break Writing Assessment CASAS Reading and Math Pretest

  6. Parking Pass and Student ID • Parking pass is required to park on campus during the day from 7am to 5pm • Students may park only in spots designated as student parking • Current student ID is required to get a parking pass • Parking pass is free

  7. CASAS Testing • CASAS testing will help your instructor assist you in making the best educational plan • The pre-test will take place today • Post testing at the end of the quarter will show you how much progress you have made

  8. WRITING ASSESSMENT • The writing assessment will help your instructor understand your writing skills • Will help your instructor place you in the right class • Make sure you have a beginning, middle, and end • Do your very best work

  9. Day Two Agenda • Welcome Back • Activate E-mail and Skills Tutor Account • CASAS Math and Reading Assessment

  10. SVC E-MAIL ACCOUNT • Your SVC e-mail account is free and is the only e-mail account your instructors will use to contact you • All instructors and programs send out important information via e-mail • Check your e-mail every day

  11. Day Three Agenda • Welcome Back • IBEST and Scholarships • Supplies for Class • Register For Classes

  12. IBEST Earn college credit while you get your GED • Allied Health • Business Management • Early Childhood • Welding and Manufacturing • Office administration • Marine Maintenance Scholarships available to help!

  13. CLASS SUPPLIES Please bring your supplies with you every day • Pens and pencils • 3-ring binder with divider tabs • Notebook paper • Calculator • Great attitude and smile

  14. CLASS SCHEDULE Reading/Writing Tuesday and Thursday Basic Math Monday/Wednesday/Friday Pre-Algebra Tuesday/Thursday/Friday Evening classes also available Spring Quarter Dates April 8 through June 20
