  3. 1983: Lebanon attack killed 241 Marines 1983: Lebanon attack killed 241 Marines Fifty-two American hostages held in Iran since November 1979 are released in 1981.

  5. April 20, 1983 President Reagan signs the Social Security Reform Bill into law.

  6. November 6, 1984 Reagan is reelected President, defeating Democratic candidate Walter Mondale.

  7. May 1, 1985 The Reagan administration announces trade embargo against Nicaragua.

  8. February 3-4, 1987 Congress overrides Reagan's veto of the Water Quality Control Act.

  14. “Man in the Mirror” • Reagan made a change in America by attempting to make this country a better place. • He signed a tax cut to try to help his citizens. • He made peace with other countries to protect his people. • Ended the cold war and broke down the Berlin wall bring peace to the U.S and stopping communism from hurting our country.

  15. “When Doves Cry” • “Alone in the world its so cold…” The Cold War • “Maybe you're just like my motherShe's never satisfied…” people are never pleased with what you do to help. • “Why do we scream at each other…” disagreements between congress and the president. • Stress the president is placed under which may cause emotions to rise “when doves cry”.

  16. “Lean on Me” • Displays how everyone in this country is dependent that we need one another to survive. • Sometime depending on your government to make a difference is what you need to do. • Nobody can help you until you swallow your pride and do something to allow someone else the ability to assist you. • “Lean on me when your not strong…” your not strong enough to make a change on your own rely on your government for help, you need them!
