  2. ESSENTIALS OF `AQIDAH Ilahiyat [Divinity] Nubuwwat [Prophethood and Prophecy] Sam`iyat [Reported Material]

  3. ALLAH الله From the definitive (اَلْ) or (the) and the noun (إِلَهٌ) or (being worthy of worship). It therefore translates as: “The only being worthy of worship.”

  4. ALLAH الله Is an infinite being possessing infinite qualities of perfection. He has however informed us of a number of these qualities, the most important of which are thirteen.

  5. 13 QUALITIES 1 existence will 2 without beginning 8 9 knowledge 3 without end difference 10 4 life 5 independence 11 hearing oneness 12 6 sight 7 power 13 speech

  6. EVIDENCES FOR THE EXISTENCE OF ALLAH

  7. 1 THE NATURE OF MAN

  8. hidden to many but persistent like the BIOS of a computer where only the OS is clear and visible

  9. ((وَإِذْ أَخَذَ رَبُّكَ مِنْ بَنِي آدَمَ مِنْ ظُهُورِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَأَشْهَدَهُمْ عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ أَلَسْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ قَالُوا بَلَى شَهِدْنَا أَنْ تَقُولُوا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِنَّا كُنَّا عَنْ هَذَا غَافِلِينَ)) “And remember when your Lord took from the backs of the children of Adam their progeny and made them to bear testimony against themselves: “Am I not your Lord?” They said: “Indeed, You are.” So that you cannot say on the Day of Judgment that we were unmindful of this.” al-A`raaf: 172

  10. “Every child is born on the fitrah [natural way] and it is his parents who turn him into a Jew or a Christian or a Magian...” • [Bukhârî: 1385 and Muslim: 2658]

  11. Allâh states in a HadîthQudsî: “I have created my servants all naturally believing in me [hunafâ’; sing. hanîf] but devils have come on to them and pulled them away from their Dîn...” [Muslim: 2865]

  12. “Their Messengers said: Can there be doubt in Allâh, the Creator of the heavens and the earth?” [SûrahIbrâhîm: 10] • “The dye of Allâh and who is better than Allâh in laying a mark? And so we (naturally) worship Him.” [Sûrah al-Baqarah: 138]

  13. “So turn your countenance to Dîn while being a hanîf [naturally believing in Allâh]. This is the nature on which Allâh has created humanity and there is no changing the creation of Allâh...” [Sûrah al-Rûm: 30]

  14. INSTINCTUAL DRIFT

  15. “It is He who conveys you on both land and sea so that when some of you are on a boat, running before fair wind, rejoicing at it, and then a violent storm comes upon them and the waves come at them from every side, and they realise that there is no escape...

  16. “...they call on Allah, making their din sincerely His: “If You rescue us from this, we will truly be among the thankful...” • [SûrahYûnus: 22]

  17. 2 ORDER AND DESIGN

  18. The complexity and order of the universe indicates to a deliberate Designer who not only created the universe but continues to sustain it.

  20. Take the earth for example.

  21. Earth is the only known planet with an atmosphere of the right mixture of gases to sustain plant, animal and human life. • If it were smaller an atmosphere would be impossible, like the planet Mercury. • If it were bigger its atmosphere would contain free hydrogen, like Jupiter. SIZE

  22. The earth is located the right distance from the sun. • If it were any further away, we would all freeze. • If it were any closer, we would all burn up. • It also rotates on its axis allowing the entire earth to be warmed and cooled every day. LOCATION

  23. Our moon is the perfect size and location from the earth. • The moon causes ocean tides and movement so that ocean waters do not stagnate. • Still the oceans are restrained from spilling over across the continents. MOON

  24. “Have we not made the earth a flat carpet and the mountains its pegs? We have created you in pairs. We made your sleep a break. We made the night a cloak. We made the day for earning a living....” [Sûrah al-Naba’: 6-11]

  25. “And He created livestock. There is warmth for you in them and various uses and some you eat. And there is beauty in them for you in the evening when you bring them home and in the morning when you drive them out to graze. They carry your loads to lands you would never reach except with great difficulty.” [Sûrah al-Nahl: 5-7]

  26. 3 COMPOUND ARGUMENT

  27. “Or were they created from nothing or are they the creators. Or did they create the heavens and the earth. Rather they are a people without conviction.” [Sûrah al-Tuwr: 35-6]

  29. اَلْـحُكْمُ: إثباتُ شيءٍ لشيءٍ أو نفيه عنه JUDGMENT: To confirm or deny s.th. about s.th.

  30. اَلْمـُسْتَحِيْلُ: الجمع بين النفي و الإثبات THE IMPOSSIBLE: To combine between an affirmation and a denial.

  34. Requires the disturbance of inertia of an object to a new condition without anything acting on the object.

  35. الدور A B C

  36. For (a) to require (b) for its existence while (b) at the same time requires (a) for its existence. Considered impossible because (a), for example, would have to both exist before itself and follow itself in existence.

  37. To say it differently: “(a) will have to both be its own cause and effect albeit indirectly.”

  38. with beginning with beginning with beginning with beginning التسلسل

  39. To suppose that all of creation are interrelated in that every later object is the effect of a former which is its cause and for this to continue endlessly without reaching an initial cause which is itself not an effect.
