Primary Care Services provided in the SHC Physicalsvolunteer programs, travel, ROTC, program physicals for College of Nursing & Diagnostic ultrasound program Acute Carediagnosis and treatment of illnesses, infections, & minor injuries Sports Medicine treatment of concussions, muscle strains, joint sprains and fractures with referral to specialists as needed Skin Careincluding treatment of acne, eczema, warts Women's Health pap smears, pregnancy testing/prevention, PCOS, breast concernsServices STD evaluation testing, treatment, counseling, and PrEP Mental Health diagnosis and treatment of anxiety and depression; medication management for other stable mental health conditions; referral to psychiatry as needed Other Immunizations and TB testing

  9. Proof of immunity to measles • Two vaccines given after the age of 12 months and at least 4 weeks apart (MMR most common measles containing vaccine in US) OR • Positive measles antibody blood test Required vaccines

All Childhood Immunizations recommended • Specific immunizations recommended to students living in close quarters with other students: • Mumps (part of the MMR series) • Pertussis (part of the Tdap series)(AKA whooping cough) • Varicella (AKA chicken Pox) • Meningitis ACWY (MCV4) • Meningitis B (MenB) • Influenza yearly Recommended vaccines

  11. Insurance Full time undergraduate students are required to have medical insurance with healthcare access in Washington state

  12. Why Do I need insurance coverage in Washington state?

  13. Something unexpected can happen that doesn’t fall into your out of area emergency access with your insurance plan. • A few examples: • Rehab Therapy • Mental Health care needs • Newly diagnosed chronic disease • Exacerbation of previously diagnosed health condition • Sleep disorders

  14. Do you want the student health insurance plan through Aetna Student insurance?

  15. Whether your answer is Yes or No, I recommend creating an account on the JCB Student insurance portal, www.jcbins.com

  16. NOIf no, than you will need to submit a waiver. • Deadline to waive is 10/2/19 • Click on Submit Waiver Here • Choose term 9/1/19 – 12/31/19

  17. To complete the waiver you will need: • Copy of your insurance card (front and back) to upload to the site • Access to your insurance information • Approved waiver good in effect 8/31/20

YesIf yes, than • No further action is needed, you will be enrolled by default if there isn’t a waiver on file ORYou can “opt-IN” on the JCB Student insurance portal, which will stop the emails from coming • Learn more about your insurance plan Medical Plan: Aetna Student Health Open Choice PPO Annual cost: $2181 divided into three terms
