  2. Animal Classification • There are five different groups of animals with vertebrates . These classification are: • Mammals • Fish • Birds • Amphibians • Reptiles

  3. The Great White Shark’s Animal Classification The Great White Shark has certain characteristics that make it a fish. Here are some attributes: The Great White Shark is cold-blooded. Sharks breathe oxygen from the water through special organs called gills. Sharks have fins. Sharks do not have scales like most fish.

  5. Appearance The Great White Shark is a fish. It has nostrils, sharp teeth, and a snout that goes up. It has a pectoral fins. These fins look like flippers and he uses it to swim. It has pelvic fins. They are on the bottom of this fish. His body shape and fins help him swim better. The Great White Shark has long gill slits for breathing.

  6. Habitat The Great White Shark lives in coral reefs and deep water. Sharks live in every ocean of the world. Most sharks live in warm water., but some sharks live in cold water. Many other sharks live in deep water like the great white shark. They live in the ocean so that they can hunt fish.

  7. Diet • Sharks eat lots of fish. They usually circle their prey before attacking. They slowly get closer. • Gray Reef Sharks often bump their prey. • Great white sharks attack from below and behind.

  8. Enemies The Great White Shark’s enemies are killer whales and people. People like to catch big sharks for fun. They are the Great White Shark’s enemies in the world.
