  6. Passover, a 1 day feast, celebrated on the 14th of Abib/Nissan, commemorating the last plague against Egypt and the Jews freedom from slavery.

  7. It also signified the Lord passing over their sins, Lev 23:4 ff, Num 28:16.

  8. It also signified the Lord passing over their sins, Lev 23:4 ff, Num 28:16.Jesus fulfilled this feast by going to the Cross, 1 Cor 5:7.

  9. 1 Cor 5:7,“Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened. For Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed.”

  10. The Cups. There were four ritual cups of wine used for the Passover that every man needed to partake of.

  11. During the meal a prayer is uttered over each cup, and the four verbs of Ex 6:6-7 are recited, one over each cup.

  12. The 1st Cup represents sanctification, signifying our Positional, Experiential and Ultimate setting apart based on the work of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Ex 6:6a.

  13. The 2nd Cup. It was poured, but not yet drunk. The “Cup of Deliverance/Joy/Praise”, represented the 10 Plagues against Egypt, and signified the Lord’s deliverance. Ex 6:6b.

  14. There was a Q&A session, a second hand washing, sing of hymns, (Psa 113-114), a prayer, and breaking of the bread. Now they could eat the meal and drink the cup.

  15. The 3rd Cup: The “Redemption cup.” Israel’s redemption of sins through the blood of the Paschal Lamb, and now the Lord’s propitiation of our sins. Ex 6:6c

  16. TETELESTAI, “It is finished”, the symbolic blood of Christ that paid the penalty of our sins.

  17. The 4th Cup: The “Cup of Elijah” or “Cup of Completion” Drunk in anticipation of His return.Ex 6:7

  18. Jesus did not drink from this cup.Mat 26:29, “But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.” Cf. Luke 22:18.

  19. As such, He was signifying His 2nd Advent when He would establish His millennial reign and give Israel their promised land.

  20. They then sang Psa 115-118.
