In this peer review activity, students will engage with the AP Writing Rubric to evaluate their peers' essays critically. Before commencing evaluations, each student is encouraged to familiarize themselves with the rubrics, aiming for a target score of 5. They'll assess their own rough drafts to predict their scores and ensure they do not disclose their assessments during peer evaluation. By collaborating and providing constructive feedback, students will enhance their analysis and writing skills, ultimately improving their final drafts of analysis papers in line with AP standards.

Review the AP Writing Rubric • Please take a quick look through the AP writing rubric before we evaluate our peers. • Remember that our goal is a 5. What is the main difference between earning a 4 versus earning a 5? • Take a look at your rough draft. What score do you think your paper will earn according to the rubric? DO NOT SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH YOUR PEER EVALUATOR.

AP Rubric • Read the paper and assign a score based on the indicators in the rubric. • Offer your partner suggestions on how you think they can increase their score by one point according to the indicators. • When you receive your paper back from your peer, take a look at their suggestions and scores and see if you agree with their assessment of you.
