They are involved in the removal of waste matters from our body and also involved in the purification of blood. Healthy kidneys keep protein in the blood, which in turn helps our bodies soak up water from the tissue inside. Damaged kidneys, on the other hand, can leak protein into the urine, which affects the ability of the body to absorb water from our tissues. This causes the tissues to swell. Nephritis is a serious inflammation (reaction to injury or infection), which affects either one or both of your kidneys. This condition is also known as kidney nephritis, tubo-interstitial nephritis or interstitial nephritis. There are different types of nephritis that have been known to affect humans. But the most common types include acute nephritis and chronic nephritis. Nephritis is the 9th highest cause of death in humans, across the world. This problem could be the result of an infection, such as a bacterial infection. It can also occur because of excess exposure to toxins. However, one of the most common factors that lead to this disease is the presence of an autoimmune disease, which affects the major organs in the body. 2. WWW.FENFURO.COM Bacterial infection: One of the most common causes of infections and inflammation in children as well as adults is the streptococcus bacteria whose infection could lead to nephritis. Medications: It has been seen that those who have been taking certain medications for a long period of time may be more prone to nephritis as compared to the others. The use of specific medicines is one of the causes of nephritis in older people. Autoimmune disorder: Instead of attacking the invaders, some factors can cause the immune system to attack normal parts of the body. There are several organs in the human body that can be affected by such autoimmune disorders, the kidney being one of them. There are numerous kidney diseases that can occur as a result of immune system problems and nephritis is one of them. Heredity factors: Nephritis disease has been known to run in the members of a family. Therefore, you are at a much higher risk of developing this condition, if any of your parents or siblings has been diagnosed with it, at some point. SYMPTOMS OF NEPHRITIS Edema or swelling due to water retention as kidneys may not be able to function (like getting rid of the water WWW.FENFURO.COM

Swelling is more common in the hands, legs, feet and ankles. An increase or decrease in the frequency of urination or the amount of urine passed each time Changes in the color of urine, as it appears frothy or darker Breathing problems Extreme fatigue, accompanied by weakness Presence of blood in the urine Your thirst may also increase as you may pass urine so often As the condition progresses, the symptoms noticed may also become severe, as they include Increase in blood pressure Severe headaches Itchiness Nausea Vomiting At times, the patient may also see traces of blood while vomiting WWW.FENFURO.COM

  4. WWW.FENFURO.COM DIAGNOSTIC TEST FOR NEPHRITIS You may need to undergo various tests related to kidney to confirm the presence of nephritic which includes: Blood test – This is often reported as eGFR, which stands for ‘estimated glomerular filtration rate’ and is a guide to kidney function. Urine test – Testing of the urine may include a test for a protein called albumin (albumin:creatinine ratio) and/or a dipstick test for blood. If protein is found in the urine, more urine tests may be needed to more accurately measure the amount of protein. Imaging tests such as ultrasound – An examination of the kidneys using sound waves to outline the structure of organs. Kidney biopsy – A needle is passed through your skin into the kidney to remove a small piece of kidney tissue for examination under a microscope. 5. WWW.FENFURO.COM Some of the factors determine the success of nephritis treatment which includes Age Overall health Severity of the condition Extent of damage caused to your kidneys In case your body responds to the treatment positively, then the symptoms will disappear completely.
