Basic Command Example 2-1: tensile 7226, 7301, 7219, 7350, 7170, 7377, 7150, 7398 Basic command • Open the worksheet sample.MTW • Sort the data • Data-> Sort • Double click on C1 tensile on the left side. • Click in the By Column box, then double click again on C1 tensile on the left pane. Don’t check Descending, if you want increasing. • Click on the circle Column(s) of current worksheet, fill in C2

  3. Basic Command Basic command • Random data • Calc-> Random data->Normal • Number of rows of data to generate 100. Store in column(s): C3 • Mean: 7274, Standard deviation: 95.6

  4. Simple Analysis • Sample mean and sample variance • 1. Stat -> Basic Statistics -> Display Descriptive Statistics • In the Display Descriptive Statistics dialog box • Double click C3 S tensile to Variables • Click Statistics dialog box

  8. Dot plot • Open worksheet Newcomb.MTJ • Graph -> Dotplot -> Simple -> OK • Double click C1 Newcomb

  10. Histogram • Open worksheet Table2-4.MPJ • Graph -> Histogram -> Simple • In Graph variables, Double click C1 Distance

  11. Histogram • Graph -> Histogram • -> With fit

  12. Histogram • Fix number of intervals • After obtained result of histogram • Double click X Scale -> Display Edit Scale • Choose Binning -> Number of intervals -> 10

  13. Pareto • Stat -> Quality Tools -> Pareto Chart • Double click C1 Type -> Defects or attribute data in: • Double click C2 HullLosses-> Frequencies in: • Check: Do not combine
