Progress and Actions after 16th Session RA VI 1st meeting of the RA VI TT on the Regional Operating Plan Geneva, January 2014 Recommended the regional priorities to be incorporated in the SP 2016 – 2019 Made suggestions for changes to the KOs that were included in the draft of the WMO SP 2016 -2019 Decided on the timetable for the work-programme of the TT As soon as the work programmes of the RAVI WGs are ready, the existing RAVI OP will be reviewed what concerns 2014 – 2015. The initial planning for the new OP 2016 – 2019 will also start with the main emphases for RAVI on 2016 – 2017 Planned to have a short meeting in connection with the EC in June 2014 President RA VI communicated the outcomes of the RA VI 16th Session and the TT ROP meeting at the Joint meeting of the PRAs and PTCs, January 2014, and EC WG / SOP, February 2014 After RA VI MG 2 Meeting (Tallinn, 14th-15th May 2014) president will approve RA VI component of the Operating plan 2016 - 2019 on the basis of the compilation of the TT ROP outcomes by the WMO Office for Europe Helsinki 10 – 17September 2013 16th Session RA VI (Europe) • ICSEED-13, Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, 28 – 29 April 2014

Main achievements outlined in the RA VI president’s report Re-established RA VI Management Group slightly enlarged its membership for a better geographical balance (enlargement with Turkey and Portugal) On-going consultations on the procedures to the establishment of a WMO Office for Commonwealth of Independent States countries Establishmentof the RA VI Hydrology Forum as a platform for hydrologists within the Region - promoting the recognition of WMO in the field of water Progress in implementation of the regional elements of the GFCS successful conduction of several subregional RCOFS (South-East European COF - SEECOF, the North-Eurasian COF - NEACOF and the Mediterranean COF - MEDCOF) expansion of the RCOF-s to other geographical areas, such as the Polar and the Arabic areas Progress in conductinganalysis of the socio-economic benefits Successfulimplementation of the second phase of the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) project for Western Balkans and Turkey Regional Association would reserve the right to request one additional seaton the Executive Council, should other Regions propose an increase Geneva 18 – 27June 2014 Preperation of RA VI for 66th EC • ICSEED-13, Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, 28 – 29 April 2014
